Mounting thru body front sway bar - help needed
 

Folks,

Trying to mount this through body sway bar on a 86 carrera. I can see where the hole needs to be drilled in the wheel well but I'm stumped as to how you get the backing plates on the inside wheel well without removing the gas tank. Any ideas??

Wayne's teh article says that 911s don't need to remove the gas tank....it's not obvious to me.
