2.0E w/ S pistons & carbs
Wayne mentions this combo in his book and i'm wondering if anyone has driven such a combo.
It would seem that in refreshing a 2.0E one could help the budget quite a bit by honing the jugs and plopping in new S pistons/rings. Erik |

I've got a 2.0E with S pistons, but MFI. The top end of the rev range feels much like any other E's, but it pulls better in the low and mid rev range. The issue with the configuration is that 2.0 engines with S pistons really don't have a great combustion chamber shape. I've found an MSD ignition helps to smooth out the running below 3000 RPM. Above that engine speed an MSD system doesn't seem to make much difference. Without the MSD, the engine mis-fired and didn't pull smoothly below 2000 RPM.

Good advice on the MSD. Cheap solution, too!

I'm thinking about going with the 2.4 heads. Why did you with go the S pistons?
