I have followed this thread with interest since I am in the middle of an ECU change over and a rethinking of the plug situation.
I am not sure which plug to use but in my research I have found the following. 1. If you have an ECU then all plugs should be Resistor type. ie NGK BR.... using an R without an ECU has no down side. 2. If you have a clearance issue use a plug without the "P" ie projector. 3. Follwoing on from other threads I have opted to avoid platinum. My current plugs are platinum and are created a few issues. 4. Another recommendation I have come across is the " increase heat range for each engine mod". Not sure about this as you may end up with engine damage with extreme mods. After all of this I am going with BR7ES and DR7ES ( twin plug 12mm lower ). Hopefully these will sort out my issues. 3.0 ltr, Twin plug, ITB's, 38mm heads/Flowed and ported, GE80. Mark...... |
Mark, I chose a ngk 7 series plug too. Plugs are cheap, so I don't mind getting a different heat range if I need it. Which ECU and throttles are you running?

Catca,
Throttles are Injection Perfection and the ECU is an EMS stinger 4244..........Still need to get the ECU programmed right but needed to get the right plugs to start the engine. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1150471830.jpg |
