ARP Head Stud Height Does Not Matter, Look at Pics of my 3.2L Head Stud Comparison
 

Ok, let's try this again...my pictures did not upload.

Well I'm going to be doing my ARP install this morning and I read everyone's input on the subject, I have to agree with Henry and a few others that it appears that head stud install height does not matter with aftermarket performance studs since they do not use the barrel nuts. To prove it out I installed an ARP and OEM stud next to each other; The ARP was installed all the way in until it bottomed out and then backed out 1/4 turn. The OEM was installed at a deck height of 135 mm (5.315"). I took a few pictures of their resting positions and you can see that the ARP and OEM threads nearly line up. Before I add the loctite any more advice out there? I already thoroughly cleaned out the threads? Oh, one more question....how much loctite should I put on and should it be applied to the case and not the threads on the stud?

It takes a extra few seconds each to set the height properly so why not do it? I assembled a cylinder and a head and then put the washer and nut on to make sure I did not go past the threads....

I can't remember the height I used, but I set them all to the tested height.

Actually, the height with the ARP heads studs installed they way I described was nearly dead on. Let me try to upload the pictures again.
