3.0 SC Time-serts size question
I have decided to use Time-serts to fix my loose head stud problem. Does anyone know the correct size time-sert kit to use to get the full thread length? part number?

HI try this site www.wurth.co.uk then type in time-surt should give you the full list+spairs.
the insurt length is 20mm. if it is for the head studs you will have to mod' the resess tool to clear the cylinder base spigot regards mike |
Time Certs, from everything I can read, are old tech and inferior to Case Savers due to the fact that they are installed with an interference fit and can thus come loose. Why are you not using the Case Savers instead?

Locitite sleeve and bearing mount (green) will most likely cure a very slight wiggle.
A Timesert will work fine in an aluminum case. CaseSavers are old technology. They just happen to work the best in a mag case. The reason they work better in mag case is that they come in many different size (10mm) and they have varying thread pitches on the od. The CaseSaver is technology left over from the Type I bug days. They have been around since the late 60's. |
