Distributing Rods and Pistons by weight

I'm ready to weigh and plan the distribution of my Rods and Pistons for the 3.8 rebuild. I understand that I should match the closest "pairs" across from each other. Are there any other rules, such as the heaviest pair goes at 2-5?

Also, Waynes' book does not have any detail that I could find on changing the weight of rods. Are there preferred locations on the stock 3.6 rod to use to lighten the heavy ones?

Getting closer...

Heaviest go next to flywheel.
