Cleaning the Fuel system before reassembly?

The engine is built (finally) and I'm ready to turn my attention to the induction system - it's been sitting for about 5 years now - (car is a 78 911SC, 3.0) - any ideas how to clean out the fuel system ??? I'm looking at the injectors and can imagine that they are not at their happiest, having been in a corner for these years...and could there be fuel in the lines? (what would it look like after 5 years....putty? syrup? slime???????)
Any advice on methods or chemicals would be welcomed, here in Ohio!!!

A number of folks here have ultrasonically cleaned engine parts with great luck, especially injectors.

As long as everything is pefectly clean right. US is great and nec but bet you could clean/flush it yourself. Get ready to break her in.

Good luck!

I ultrasonically cleaned mine while submerged in fuel injector cleaner; I had no heat turned on (ultrasonic cleaner) for obvious reasons then I used some light air pressure to push the cleaner through them. I also painted them with high temperature engine paint to provide a nice finish. I would like to know how some of these performance shops balance them. I don't believe they are designed to be taken apart, does anyone know?
Best Regards,

Alex
