What year is this motor??

Hi Guys

I was told that my recent engine is a 1988, but not sure.

Anyone know what a #64100996 is ???

Well, the number is a little odd to me. The "641" part indicates a 1981 3.0 sc engine for the USA/Canada market. But, the "00996" portion seems to have and extra digit in it. I *think* there was only 4 digits in the second part of the number. Have a pic of it by chance?

However, if it is a "64J" number and not "64I" then it would be a catylist equipped 88 3.2 motor and the number of digits would then be correct......
