anyone recommend a minnesota or midwest engine rebuilder

I'm going to rebuild the 3.2 and don't have the time to do it myself, so I need a good rebuilder in minnesota. Anyone know of a good outfit? Thanks

FlatSix, Bob Johnson - Johnson Autosports, and Nurburging - Rick Moe is best but (bring $$$$$$).
Johnson is building mine now.

Might want to price the fine engine builders in CA, etc first. I found it was cheaper to ship my engine to Supertec than to get a local rebuild.

One quick question: If you had it to do over would you do the same thing? Be honest!

If you made another choice might you be driving your car by now? :)

No question

Send it to Henry!

Great work reasonable prices,

Unbelievable support.

Nice guy as well, you won't regret it! The cost of shipping is not that much in the grand picture.

Without a doubt I would of sent my engine to Supertec, but back in October the guys at Johnson seemed the best choice, My engine build took a different direction since then and I would of preferred that you ( Henry ) would of built it seeing that the modifications and parts all came from you.
I doubt I would be driving my car, Im still waiting on the bodyshop, I gave them an ultimatum, they want me to do an airbrush job for them on a Mini this week I told them to get started on my car first and left them my doors, rockers, lids, all except the chassis.
The engine guys are still working on the removal of the exhaust studs, it has stalled getting it put together for the last two weeks.

Matt and Bob at Johnson AutoSport are great guys and do know there stuff, there primary business is auto racing, track support and car set up. They are out of town more than they are in.

Yes Henry if i did it all over again, I would of had you build it for me.

I named my child after Henry.

No I didn't...just kidding.

Let me throw another builder into the suggestion mix:

Kevin Farrell
Injection Labs
Broomfield CO
303-404-0515

He autopsied a motor meister engine for us (and I'm sure he'll never get that stink off his hands), then built a wonder short stroke 3.2 for our spyder. Good fellow, well organized, excellent customer support and workmanship.

And yes, he will definately get our next engine overhaul project.

I can say from experience and personal relationship that you won't wrong with Jeppesen Imports, Rick Moe (The Nurburgring), or Aaron Hatz@ Flat6. All of which are local to the Minneapolis area. That being said I love Henry for his support on this board and his out-of-the box, consistent ability to make receipes with impressive attention to detail. I plan on throwing some gooddies at him this winter for his special touch as well as using these great local resources for stuff too.
