What could have cause this?

Hi All, I just pulled off the intake header and found the cause of my smoking exhaust. Upon inspection I notice that there was an oil leak in the intake system. What could have caused this? I checked all the hoses and there were no visible cracks or leaks in them. Most of the oil is in cylinder 1 and 2. The rest looks clean. IF the leak was in the intake system, then shouldn't the rest of the intake look the same?

I would imagine, among other things, that your valve guides are wasted. I am building a 3.2 (for sale) currently, I had 2 or 3 intake ports that looked like yours. My engine also had pistons/rings that were well out of spec.

If my valve guides are worn. Shouldn't I see oil on the valve stem or on the valve giude itself?

Thanks in advance

Is there oil inside the intake plenum? Oil could be comming in through the breather. If the valve guides are leaking you won't see oil on them because they are washed with fuel by the injectors.

Looks like carbon you find in an exhaust port? My 3.2 had bad guides too and would let the valve rock so bad it never sealed good. When you pull the valves out you will see how poor they were sealing. I also had some broken rings letting oil into the chanber
