maybe this is covered on other threads...but there does still seem to be confusion re. what is the best seal/guide material combination.. if Chris/John W./ Henry say to not use the white ones..then I would say change them now.... it would be nice to know the original manufacturer and part number for different types of seals and guides..so we can help keep this straight in the future.. and have a "clean" hand off when someone asks the question again...

We do all of our heads in-house and have used the latest Viton seals for many years with excellent results. Of course we only use our own phosphorus-bronze guides that are hand-honed to fit.
The only time I use the white teflon ones is on the exhaust side on 930's. These permit a little more oil down the guide and I think those hot-running motors need the extra lubrication (a la 935). |
