Rebuilt engine 1st startup ???'s

I finished my DIY rebuild on my 2.7 cis engine. What is the startup procedure to break in the new cams? I know the drill to seat the rings, but am unsure of the cams. Any other tips before I crank it??

TIA

Dissable your ignition. Crank the motor over a few times until you see that it has oil preasure. After building oil preasure, enable ignition, fire it up. Be preparred to keep it running at 2-2.5k for 20 minutes. This advanced speed helps ensure oil to the cams and rockers. Shut it down and change oil. The best thing you could do however is buy Wayne's book. It details exactly what you're after. Hope this helps!

I have the book, but haven't read that far yet :)

Get Ready to have fun!. The book serves its purpose. Get her installed just right. Double check everything. Drop her down.

Wont you want to break her in like you drive it? SOP is run her all up the rpm range, and down, in the gears.

Consider this too though, there is always one person in the community who will wonder why you are driving so hard (" loud"). But then when you get past the start up/break in. Just change the oil again. And get ready for consistent highway fun.

Good luck.
