Oil Pressure Question

I have a 1970 911 with a 2.2L motor. At idle (~ 800-1000 RPM), what should the oil pressure readout be? Also, when at higher RPM's, what should the oil pressure be then?
Thanks ,
Jeff

oil press

For stock engines of that vintage at operating temp you need 60 psi at 4000 RPM and it wont matter what it is at idle, the early guages/senders didn't show much indicated press but there is plenty

On my 1970 2.2S with almost 100K on the odometer, oil pressure at idle was about 0 based on the dash guage. I installed the updated camshaft housing oil restrictors and my idle pressure is about 20psi based on the dash guage. Pressure above 2000 rpm went up slightly but has always been around 60 psi at 4000 RPM. Based on the dash guage. So I think Mike is saying No worries at idle unless you hear strange noises.

Thanks guys. That's about what my gauge shows - I was a bit worried about the low pressure at idle, but sounds like I should not worry about that since everything sounds just fine.

If it helps any, my 2.7 is about 60 at 3000, but very low at idle. Been fine for a while.
