Rebuild officially done!
Well after a few hiccups along the way, my 2.6 rebuild is completed! The engine went in a couple of weeks ago and I promptly went out of town for work :(
Well this past weekend, I got it into a shop to check over the idle and timing - all was well and I proceeded to do some some breaking in on a hill around the corner from my house (semi-rural) Last night was it's first autocross - going pretty easy on it still (3/4 throttle and only up to 5500 rpm). It performed flawlessly! Thanks to everyone here for the assistance! Some thanks of note: - Henry - The twinplug distributor is great and the sealant advice was fantastic - Burn- Bros - Great work on the twinplug rotor - Wayne - Thanks for the engine book - John W - Always there with loads of experience - Steve W - Good pointers and tons in the archives that helped There are lots of others that make this a great BBS - keep up the good work! I still want to relocate the coils and route the wires, but I also wanted to run it before it snows up here!

Thanks for the compliments guys.
I'm aiming to get it to the local vintage sports car show this weekend if anyone in the area want to check it out. I've been driving it all week and it's a blast! Hawkney911 - Calgary and Banff are great, but when you get to visit during stampede you're living right! rvanderpyl - I checked the times - hopefully next time I'll close the gap with you! AM |
