Why reverse rotation on SC distributors?

Can anyone say why Porsche made the change, and just for the SCs and Turbo 3.3s, to the counterclockwise-turning ignition distributor? Was there some kind of problem with the similar, though clockwise-turning, distributor in the Turbo 3.0?

I think this was the first distributor for the 911 with a magnetic pick-up. I also think they got it from another application that turned backward and so they adapted it to the 911 by putting a reversed gear on the crank.

I think that there must be some other reason. The Turbo 3.0 came with the same magnetic pickup, but the distributor turns clockwise.

The distributor turns in sync with the earth rotation.... thus SC's are faster than Carrera's. We rule!!!!!!
