3.8l FVD P&C Install question:

Hi
I bought a FVD 3.8l for my 964 Turbo... on ebay.

However this was a long time ago now and I have just started to look at them. The document says the CR is 11.4:1 !
If its true (ebay said they were for the turbo) can I have the pistons machined to my desired ratio (7.5 or 8:1) ? Or is there not enough to come off. I assume the cylinders are all the same length for NA and Turbo.

Thanks for any help

Miles, Henry Schmidt will probably tune in here and give you some advice. He's machined down 964 pistons before for use in a turbo application. It's done a lot!

He charges something like $20-$25 per piston to machine.

Henry, are you out there?

Stephen Kaspar has also done this and confirms it's OK.

This might sound crazy but why not. How bout you call up FVD and confirm exactly what kind of pistons and cylinders these are. Then if they arent what you want why not ask if you can ship them the pistons and have them trade you straight up. Doesnt hurt and all they can say is no, less painful then cutting up new pistons.

Thanks for the replies. I will give FVD a call.. whats confusing now is on the box for the pistons its says BI-Turbo.
I think I need to give FVD a call.
