2.7 engine oil leak

I have a 2.7 liter engine that needed to be rebuilt for pulled head studs. I had timeserts installed for this.
Would timeserts have any effect on the case? Would they cause any fatigue or would they strengthen it?
The first rebuild had an oil leak due to the crank case not being ventilated.
When they were assembling the engine for the second time they discovered an under spec main bearing clearance. This was not present on the first rebuild.
Any ideas what would have caused the under spec main bearing?
The case required line boring. In Wayne Dempsey, How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines, he talks about machining each case half and reboring all bores. Can you give me the names of the companies that do this?
I still have an oil leak I would like to resolve.

Thanks

Pat Greenan

waynes rebuild book

get wayne's rebuild book...explains time serts and case savers...time serts may expand the case where-as case savers do not.

Ollie's machine shop, somewhere in LA is set up for Porsche machining of all types. The advantage of using a shop that's already set up is that since the machines are already adapted to Porsche stuff, you donlt have to pay them $75.00 an hour to figure out how to clamp a Porsche part in the mill, lathe, or whatever.
Rimco is set up as well, for most things, they're primarily a VW place, but they do a lot of Porsches too. I think they're in Orange County.

Thanks a bunch for the information 47Silver and Sww914.
I have Wayne's book. I will look for info on Timecerts.
Thanks for the leads on the machine shops. Would anyone have the phone number for Ollie's or Rimco so I could contact them? If there are others please let me know.

Any ideas what would have caused the under spec main bearing?

Thanks

Pat
