weber carbs IDT vs IDA
I am currently under taking a 2.7 near RS rebuild: 2.7case, RS pistons, solex cams, S heads. currently have weber IDT carbs w/ 32 choke, f1 emulsion tubes, 180 air, 130 main, 55 idle. i bought these after being used for a 914-6 track car.
question: what do you recommend: keep the IDT or go with IDA, different emulsion tubes, ventury, jets??? needing direction before final assembly. |

I'm not that familiar with the differences but I think the IDT just has some extra enrichment crap that doesn't do what it was supposed to do. I think you can disable that portion and they are then the same as IDA's. Hopefully you can get an expert to chime in here.

IDT's are the emissions version of IDA's. They differ in the position and size of the progression holes.
IDS's have the high-speed fuel enrichment nozzles,.... ![]() You can use those IDT's on your 2.7 as long as its jetted for your altitude, fuels, and engine configuration. You simply might need some fine-tuning with the idle jets and mixture screws. Your desired RPM range dictates the size of main venturies but your jetting isn't too far off. I'd use F3 emulsion tubes with Solex cams to help prevent a bog when going to WOT. This keeps one from relying on an excessive pump shot for acceleration enrichment. 130 mains are liekly too small and I'd use 135's-140's with 32mm venturies and 145's with 34mm ones.
