Matt:
JE doesn't make cylinders, only pistons. One of their divisions is Perfect Bore, a UK-based maker of Porsche cylinders. Another good option are LN Engineering's "Nickies".

Perfect Bore only makes 930 and later cylinders (3L and above).
I make the Nickies 2.7 cylinders in 89mm to 93mm, and they now come mooned for windage. Pistons can be whatever CR you like. They are available though our host even though they may not be in the catalog - to many options to list them all!

so what size piston barrel combination would I need to get 2.8 or 2.9 respecivley.
I have been told by my tech that I should not go bigger than 2.8 or have compression more than 9.8:1 with the 7R mag case.

There are things you can do to improve your situation with the mag case - case savers, shuffle pins, cryogenic treatment, larger oil cooler, etc. To be on the safe side, even 9.5:1 would be ok. The larger displacement from the larger bores won't affect to a large extent it's longevity, it's more how you drive it, how cool you can keep it, and how efficient you can make it (free-flowing exhaust, etc).
