Weber float collasped

After the recent rebuild the 3.0l with 40 Weber's wouldn't pull from 4500 rpm on up. Never had the problem before. I just took th carbs apart to freshen them up and found both floats on the left (drivers) side somewhat deformed and collapsed. Anyone ever experience this phenomenon?

Same carbs and same basic setup for years, so nothing new to blame that comes to mind. The carbs sat on the shelf for the summer while I was rebuilding the engine, but the right side is fine.

Thanks,

Russ

someone used an air gun to blow out jet passages, which pressurizes the float bowls and collapses the floats.

Thanks for the note, that makes sense. Since I'm the only one who works on the car, the search for the guilty party should be short lived!
