Oil Rings Not Marked Top - 2.2 Litre Goetze Rings

Rebuilding 2.2 Litre - Oil Ring is not marked top and has no printing on either side of the ring.

The oil ring looks the same no matter the orientation, can I assume that it does not matter which way the ring is installed??? Or am I missing something.

I belive there is no upside dwn to a oil ring

My goezte oil rings did have a marking for "top" - it was hard to see but there.

Thanks ... but were these on a 2.2 engine ... I see some are marked (re: various images on the web) etc. but mine don't seem to be marked ... still not sure re: 2.2 T engine rings.

I believe that if there are no markings, then the ring should be able to be installed in either direction. Everyone I've seen looks symetrical to my eye, but I have never measured one to see if there is a side-to-side difference...

Thanks Wayne - yes they look symetrical, and seem the same, will carry on with my rebuild, ... spoke with another source this a.m. ... etc.
I wonder if Goetze has specs or advice ??? Not sure how to contact them or ???
