It has always been rare, and even more rare in the internet age to see a position stated as clearly, eloquently, unbiased, and without malice as Wayne has done here.
This thread has been the furthest thing from a flame, and I applaud those involved for such a perfect example of respect
that I, for one, can learn from.
Wayne, I am a personal friend of 2 of your competitors, if you look at a map you can figure out who they are, but your professionalism and lack of selfishness has persuaded me to start buying from Pelican Parts. If you are this professional in a situation where you won't profit directly I'm sure that you will exceed any reasonable expectation as to your business practices when I become a customer rather than a voyeur of sorts.
Thank you for reinstating Henry, he is an asset to this community (from my perspective) in spite of his sometimes gruff exterior.

Thanks Wayne,

I appreciate and respect your business, I too like others use Pelican as my preferred parts supplier. The advice given to me from Henry has allowed me to continue my project with confidence, thank you both. I hope to soon post pictures of my Carrera engine rebuild project which is coming to an end.

Regards,

Alex

Wayne,
I understand the difficult position you're in here and I support you 100%. I do respect and appreciate Henry's knowledge and advice, it's too bad it had to come to this...

I'm coming to this late and I'm happy to see that this has been (hopefully) worked out. I've always appreciated Henry's support on questions and issues. I'd hate to see him go away from the forum. I also hope that his support here continues to develop business for his company so that he can keep food on the table and a roof over his head.

Thanks guys - I didn't put too much thought really into this - this is how I resolve issues on a daily basis.

Thanks again for the feedback, and continued support of Pelican!

With respect to the seals, I don't see any downside to them, other than the small additional cost.
I agree, that's why I bought the seals for my engine (from pelican of course.)

My post was sposed to be a little joke, a while back we kinda got heated up discussing the merit of those seals.
Unfortunately the joke didn't work, everyone ignored it except Wayne.

Wayne,
There are always 2 sides on the coin.
I don't think you should underestimate the effect of specialists like Henri, who encourage enthousiasts to work on their car and who will consequently order stuff from you as well; even for totally different parts. It also helps traffic to your site; you cannot isolate one perceived negative from all the indirect positives.

Love this place anyhow, keep on going.
