Cam ID just by removing valve covers?
Is there a way to actually see the part number on my cams by simply removing a valve cover?
I could swear I was told this is possible but when i looked last night it seems the area of the cam where the number would be stamped is hidden. Do i just need to shut up and buy a dial gauge/z block? |
I know on some cam's I've seen an ID number on the shank, but I've never really looked at it... Might be a part number.

You can see part numbers on the cams but thats no guarantee of what they actually are,... :) Since many cams get repaired/reground to different profiles, one really needs to measure lift & duration to be sure. |
but how do i see it? all i can see is the lobes, not the straight part that would have the stamp.
