Dan, search here for the word "tectyl." This is the product the factory used.
There are other magnesium conversion coatings such as "Dow 7" or "Dow 21" - the factory used these on the 906 and 917 magnesium cases-- characterized by a chocolate brown color.

Is anyone able to find a source for Tectyl in small individual use quantities? I can't.
I am running a test using "CRC Heavy Duty Corrosion Inhibitor". I suspect it is much like Tectyl (waxy coating). I have not heard of LPS Procyon until this thread, but it looks interesting. |

Wayne used to sell it here on Pelican, Tectyl 846 (cosmoline equivalent). Currently NLA, you might call him and ask if he plans to order more. Google Tectyl 846 for a variety of vendors of small quantities.
