Engine Weight

Does anyone know the standard weight of the 1974 2.7S engine? Also, what is +/- the weight of the 1968 912 engine?

I have the 2.7s engine in a 912 and trying to figure out how much more heavy the 912 will be...

Thanks for the input.

I really don't know the early (non-type IV) 912 motors.
I know that the 911 motors are well covered in other threads and weigh approximately 400lbs.

I know that a type IV (1976 912) motor weighs in at close to 250lbs.

so I would roughly guess you would be adding 150lbs to the back of your car.

Hmmm, not a bad attempt, but some of the data is not applied to the correct model years. Quote their specs only if you cross reference with other sources.
