Differences between MFI heads?
I'm in the middle of a huge debacle involving some heads I sold in order to have rebuilt and shipped overseas. The first shop I sent them to said they were not useable. The second didn't find them to be much better, but neither one is telling me exactly what the problem is other than "corrosion." Two of the heads had seen some standing water, so I can understand corrosion on those 2.
So, I need replacements to finish my obligation. The originals are 2.4 T heads and the 2.2 E stacks fit the intake ports close enough. I noticed that each port is slightly different depending on where on the throttle body I put it. I guess port matching would be a good thing, but I don't have access to the TB's that will be eventualy installed. I think I know that S heads have a 36mm intake, but the T and E sizes are what I need. Wayne's book doesn't list this. Netiher does the Spec book or the Red book. What are the ports on the 2.2 and 2.4 T, E and S heads, please? All the valves on those heads are listed at 40 and 46mm. |

Thank you very much. I wondered when someone wanted to sell me some "E" heads for more money! Sucker born every minute, eh?
