Inlet manifold 3,2 or 3,6 ??

I have thought about moving from the CIS injection, to Megasquirt, and replace the inlet manifold with a 3,2 Carerra inlet or the 3,6L plastic one... my heads are Ø39. I like the 3,6 manifold, but maybe this one is to big for a std. 3L engine..? (here i'm thinking on the midrange torque) In the 3,6L manifold there are also an additional butterfly in between the two half's.. how toes that works ??

I've heard that the 3,2 runners are around 40mm but is the 3,6 bigger than that ?

I know the mounting on the heads does not fit with the 3,6..
but to change this, i will design 6 new flanges or what they are called.. with an internal cone or radius to blend from ø39 to what the 3.6 are in diameter.

Billit design and Patricks already do injector blocks so you can do a plastic intake. On the other hand, have you asked has someone done a motronic conversion thread?

Thanks Bernard, for your replay.

I think i will design my own manifolds, to get i just as i want it, but i know it is very time consuming!

Does anyone know the internal diameter of the 964 plastic runners ??

What size are you going to por t the heads to? I cant get to my 964 intake to measure for you until next week.

Hi Bernard,

I just got the dimension (ø42) what i thought on, was to make these 6 new manifolds, the same dimension as the heads are now - ø39 and then ø42 in the top like a venturi or a cone. If i later on deside to build 3.2 short stroke incl. other modifications, they could easily be changed in diameter.
