Question about 3,0 Turbo Oil Pump and Sump Plate

I know that case modifications are required to use the 3,0 turbo oil pump due to its length. Is the bowl-type later sump plate a requirement also?

The early pump has a venturi on the bottom but still used a separate screen, unlike the Carrera pump which had the screen integral, necessitating use of the bowl-type later sump plate.

Thanks!

You are correct the early turbo pump used the sump plate with the drain plug.

I have an NOS pump if you are interested.
