MFI injector blocks for use with 3.2 heads???

I know someone makes/has made MFI injector blocks for use with 3.6 motors. Does anyone make (or know where I can get) similar blocks for use with 3.2 heads. These would go between the heads and the throttle bodies and the MFI injectors would plug into them.

Thanks,

Brooke

Check with Henry at Supertec... He may have or know of something that would work.

rswannabe 01-05-2007 08:50 PM

Already spoke with Henry and he does not know of any specifically, but thinks there must be something out there.

you will have some adjustments to the linkages with the adapters , as you can see I have run these and thay work OK the engine thay where on has been re-developed and they are not used now.

Mike,

That certainly looks likee what I was envisioning. So is that block set up to take MFI injectors and not EFI injectors? The MFI injectors are typically much longer than EFI's and from the pictures it looks likee the nose of an MFI injector might stick out into the main airflow of the bore in those blocks. Did they when you were using them?

Sounds like you might be interested in selling those. If they are set up to run MFI injectors, I would be interested in buying them from you.

HI thay where made as a duplicat of the fitting of a MFI on injector on a std porsche head with the angle and direction to match

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1168099489.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1168099514.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1168099536.jpg

is this what you require? the addapter is on a 3.2 head in the photo that thay came off you will require longer studs to fit them.

regards mike

rswannabe 01-06-2007 08:30 AM

Mike,

Those are exactly what I am looking for. You state they work "OK". Is that to say they worked well, or that there were some issues in running them? In addition to the longer mounting studs, I assume you have to modify the linkage from the MFI pump to the cross bar, and that you could not run the stock fuel lines (RSR style flex fuel lines takes care of this though). Were there any other modifications needed?

Are you looking to sell them? Shoot me an email at bstabbert@westwater.com.

Thanks,

Brooke

HI Brooke the OK is that I had no prob's with the engine running with these on , the steel fuel lines will fit , the throttle linkage will knead some sorting between the pump and the L/H stack, also the rod to the gearbox is very close to the pump belt, some jigary pokery will be required hear. PM me your snail mail Add and I will ship them over and you can have a look to weigh the job up if you like .

Mike,

I apologize for any misunderstanding. I thought we had last left it that you were going to check with your machinest on producing a set with a smaller internal diameter, as the 42mm ID of the ones set is too large for my application. I was waiting to hear back from you on that, and then quite frankly forgot about this for a while. I can send the adaptors back to you ASAP. Please send me your shipping address and I'll get them back to you.

If these adapters are good for your aplication apart from the ID wouldnt it be easier to take them to a local machinist and have them sleaved to the appropriate size? This would be easy to do depending on what size your wanting to go to?

Mike,

As I indicated in my previous thread I did not have your mailing address. I had both posted here and sent you a PM requesting the address so I could return the injector blocks. Nonetheless I should not have lost your address in the first place and it is my responsability to get these back to you when I did not use them. Now that I have the address I will get them in the mail to you this week. I will post here when I have and send you the tracking number.

I truly appreciate your willingness to share the injector blocks and I wish they would have worked for my uses, but as I said befor eth ebore is too big to work well for me. I hope this experience does not sour you on helping people on this board.

Best regards,

Brooke Stabbert

Mike,

The injector blocks went out in the mail today. I'll PM you the tracking number as soon as my secretary give it to me.

Errr Mike,
Can I borrow these injector blocks? :) Just kidding.

Actually, it wasn't clear if you did manufacture these or just had the set as a spare. I'm looking for something that could be used as a spacer in lieu of purchasing tall Weber intake manifolds.

And if you do, can these be obtained without the injector bore?

thanks,
Sherwood

MBEngineering 10-12-2007 12:04 AM

HI Sherwood
the block's/addapters could be made in any size, if you send the size you require I can get you a price.

HI Brooke
Thanks for that, will check for the No' later.

Can these be made with a standard injector bung for Bosche injectors? I'm thinking with these, some MFI butterflies, and some air horns that an 'affordable' throttle body solution could be had...unless that's too simplistic.

MBEngineering 10-12-2007 09:42 AM

HI bb80sc
I cannot see any prob' having the electronic injector hole put in, I will have a word with the engineers and ask the question for you.

HI Brooke
The adapters turned up to day, thanks
