Anyone have access to a 964 plastic intake?
Hello all,
Does anyone have access to a 964 plastic intake (preferably removed from the engine)? Please can you take pictures of all angles and include all measurements on it? I would like to fabricate one from stainless steel, improving the documented inefficiencies and adapting it to fit my vehicle.:D I do not want to use a plastic intake with adapters. Many thanks in advance, F. |
Do you have any info on these "documented inefficiencies" ?

Hello Chris,
There are a lot of info in other threads. Lukesportsman provided me with this info: "You could improve on flow at the intersection of the runners to plenum. Many have argued that the stock TB and opening are restrictive." as well as: "If your plumbing your own runners (tubes) into a fabricated plenum, you might consider 180 degree rolled lip trumpets extending into the plenum. There have been studies showing an increase in flow by installing these small trumpets inside a plenum as if exposed to the atmosphere." These will probably be the biggest changes I will incorporate :D Hope this helps, F. |
Do yourself a favour and call Steve at rennsportsystems. His number is 503 244 0990. I have talked at length with him about various intake systems and their applications. If I knew then what I know now I would not have went with the basic jenvey set up I posted pics about in one of your previous threads.
Call and ask him about some of the options, you will be glad you did. :) Cheers |
I dropped Steve an email, no reply yet...
Anyone willing to do the measurements for me please? This would help me determine cost/effort involved reproducing the 964 intake manifold vs. some sort of ITB setup :D |
What would you have gone with, Jeff?

I was a bit shocked to hear that myself. Why the change in attitude? What direction would you have gone Jeff? |
