Which SSI's do i need?
 

I am rebuilding a junker 2.7 for my 70t and would love to reuse my thin flange SSI's. The 77 2.7 had the three into one headers not the reactors when i tore it appart. I can have the fully threaded exaust studs installed when it gets a valve job but is that all that needs to be changed. Do these heads require the thick Flange with the fitting sleave that mates with the head?
On the topic of this new motor, for a very agressive street engine with 9.5comp, would a GE-40 cam be too hot?
Oh yeah one more thing, Has anyone used Mike @ Motor Auto works INC. in National City San Diego for machine work, They advertize with the POC San Diego. Any info would be great.

You can use your current SSI's on your 2.7 without a problem.

GE-40's are just fine for a street engine; just don't get aggressive with ignition timing with your 91 octane gas.

you should replace the exhaust studs with the short ones though. the studs used on a 2.7 thermal reactor engine had a thin center shank that was prone to breaking. christian's tool would come in handy here. your machinist would love it.

I have a '77 2.7 in my '74 911. It has what I think are '74 or earlier (?) heat exchangers w/thin flanges & shorter exhaust studs.
