Do you "know" this 3.0L Engine in Laguna Hills, CA?
Does anyone recognize this engine? I am looking for any info on the build, age, use, mileage of the engine. It apparently went to the current owner PCA member Robert Keele in Laguna Hills from the PO in Pomona who had it built for an RS (clone?) track car and put about 6K miles on it. He apparently crashed the car and sold the CO the engine to pay for the body rebuild. CO put 3K miles on it, a couple of AutoX days and is selling it as he now bought a 3.6.
How difficult are webers to maintain/tune on a track car also driven on the street (besides the gas mileage)? This is a great set up for my SC but I would like to know if anyone has any additional info or would be willing to check the engine out in person. It is still in the car and can be driven. Thank you!! So far, I only have these specs and engine is still in car for testing: '79 case complete with electronics, fuel pump, reg, early muffler, etc. 9.6:1 compression Shasta pistons set (test reads as 8.6:1) good leak down test 911E "aggressive cams with a lot of valve overlap" which accounts for lower compression test (?) 40mm Webers early exhaust backdated exchangers no oil leaks turbo oil pump ![]()

The red fan says potential Motor Meister rebuild. The good news is that other parts are painted red, so luck be with you that is it was not.

I'd certainly find out who built it before anything.
Could be a Kelley Moss motor.. Could be a MotorMeister "motor"

Precisely. it seems strange to me that the PO does not know who built the motor and has no way to contact the person who sold it to him. All of which is not such a good sign.
