Question Pipes to vacuum advance unit on 930 - Can anyone help me???

I want to check where the tubes should go to and from on the vacuum advance unit on my 930 engine there are two connections to it. Can anybody confirm where they should go to?

Thanks in advance

Steve, the line on the "dome" of the vacuum canister goes to a vacuum thermo-switch located on the oil breather at the front(flywheel side) of the engine. It then goes to the front of the throttle body. This provides advance, but only when the engine warms up. The other line on the backside of the vacuum canister(where it mounts to the distributor) for boost retard, goes to the rear(closest to you) of the throttlebody. Mine is a US model, but I've eliminated some of the smog vacuum solenoids. The basic idea should be the same on ROW.

Thanks for helping me out Mike I really appreciate it. Your explanation and the Porsche parts list now make sense to me.

Best regards

Steve
