3.6 alternator & fan assy on 3.2 motor
Hi Guys,
Just wanted to know of a 3.6 fan & housing will fit under a 3.2 fan shroud. I am wanting to fit this for my upcomming 3.5 litre build. Thanks |
Probably not worth it.
1. Produces less noise, but produces substantially less air even if pulley ratio is corrected. The fan has a larger hub therefore less area of air movement. The cool appearing curved blades were supposedly done for reduced noise polution and not to increase air flow. 2. May require some shroud modification 3. You can buy upgraded alternators if that is so required for 3.2. But above all you just want to do it for the better looking fan, I'll gladly look at buying your 3.2 fan/alternator assembly. |
Hi Luke,
I sold my complete 3.2 SS. I am in the process of locating a 3.2 long block. I have all the other pieces, except the fan assy. I thought that if I had to buy a fan assy, I may as well go the the latest, and assumed that the air mooved would be higher. Does anyone have any specs on the air moved between the 11 blade and the 3.6 unit? Thanks |

Here is the thread that discouraged me. There was a more recent one that I don't have off the top of my head. It kind of rehashed this topic and general thought again was NO don't use unless amp's was your driving force and you weren't raising the power. Obviously your attempting to raise power. |
Thanks Luke,

Hi Guys,
I believe that the 964 turbo(965) has an 11 blade fan, similar to the 3.2 fan. Does anyone know the air flow rate of this setup. Thanks |
