Garage
I just fitted the restrictors to my 100k+ miles 2.7. It had a little low oilpressure when warm (85-90 degree Centigrade), even with 20-w50 oil.
It's still a little cold here so I havent gotten the engine above 80C (176 F) yet, but at 80 the oilpressure with 10-40 oil my pressure hass risen 1 or 2 bars.
I have notised that my valve train is a little noiser than before, but I have also switched to the early style HE so I can be fooling myself with no premuffler in the noise path.

Someone on this forum drilled out the restrictors, but not as much as the original, I think I'll try that.

Btw: Isn't Henry a beliver in the restrictors?

it would be great if a person in the know could set us all straight by listing specific engines AND comment on different uses of such engines.

It may be me, but it seems that ANY engine that is rev'd to redline a lot and is run at 4k to redline most of the time, (we know some who don't upshift till tach says 5k and road speed is what they want to be traveling at i.e. 40 speed zone and in 2nd gear taching at ~4k..."gotta keep the revs up!! ;-)

anyway, my point is that different uses MAY require different amount of oil to the heads restriction????????

EXPERTS THAT HAVE SEEN EM' ALL & BUILT EM' ALL CHIME IN PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Bob makes a good point that different engines and uses might make a difference about which is best. I don't think you need a list however. I think there is enough information here to help people decide. I also think that for 90 percent of us it doesn't make much difference either way.
