And so Ed's 3.2L rebuild saga begins...

I got the engine out yesterday, and will start to tear it down in a few days. Due to a mis-shift at the track (3rd to 2nd instead of 4th) I've got some bent valves. As I've got 130K on the odometer, and will have to replace the rod bolts anyway, I'm going all the way into the engine. I hope to reuse the P's and C's, providing they are not damaged and are in spec.

I figured I might as well start a new thread, and keep some record of my progress going, as well as post the inevitable questions I'll come up with.

In addition to new rings, bearings, timing chains, ramps and such, here's what I plan on doing while it's out:

"Performance" Valve Job w/new valve guides, etc
Resurface heads
EBS Racing valve springs
ARP rod bolts
964 grind on cams
Extrude hone intake
Recondition connecting rods/new bushings
Inspect case halves and machine if needed
Powder coating of sheetmetal, valve covers, intake, fan, etc.
Reprogram of Steve W chip to new specs

I've already got headers on her, so this will help open up the intake a bit. If I need to do something about P's and C's, I'll address that as well, either with a 98mm upgrade, or maybe even 95mm Euros.

Ed,

Sorry to hear about your engine.
Who are you going to get to do the machine work on the heads?

I'm probably going with either EBS or Ollie's.
