Greg,

What do the cylinders look like? Can you post a photo? Cast-iron fins didn't come in until 1968 with the 911T, so they could be two-liter, or they could be 84mm from a 2,2 or 2,4 E. But it's hard to tell without photos.

The 901/06 had a reduced performance camshaft called the 911L cam. Its specifications are:

I opens 20 BTDC
I closes 34 ABDC
E opens 40 BBDC
E closes 6 ATDC

Compare that with the Solex from the 901/01 and 901/05, which is

I opens 29 BTDC
I closes 39 ABDC
E opens 39 BBDC
E closes 19 ATDC

and you can see it's a reduced-performance cam. It was intended to maintain the 901/06 at 130 HP even though the later "SSI-style" heat exchangers, which were introduced for the 911S, would have bumped power to 140HP. This narrowing of the power difference was unacceptable to the marketing department, hence the change to the cam.

Photos will tell if it has 80mm or 84mm cylinders. Cast-iron fins are from the '68+ 911T, but these cylinders fit right on to a 2.0L with no mods.

If any thing else it has an aluminum case very sought after

It has cast iron cyl. "T" P/C

YTNUKLR 04-12-2007 10:50 PM

Greg, you have a 2.2 (84mm) set of P/C on there .

gregk1 04-13-2007 05:19 AM

so if someone put 2.2 P&C's then who knows what it may have for cams just might have to rebuild it insted of parting it out hmmm what to do!!welll i guess i will take it apart and see what's inside

What number on the case? Should start with 9.

gregk1 04-13-2007 06:04 AM

that number tells the year and what car it came out of correct?? i have allways looked at the back number 901/01 in witch i have two of those motors one mag and one aluminum and come to think of it they both have alloy P&C's
