Cam plate o-ring sealant?

I am replacing the seal and o-ring on my cam plate.
The old o-ring was sealed pretty good with what looked like a white sealant material.

What type of sealant should I use to seal this?

Curil T.

I install that o-ring with a light coat of silicon grease (Dow 111?). That joint is meant to be able to move due to expansion and contraction of the engine. I don't think a sealant should be used there (even a non curing one).

We also build our engines with oring lubricant (Dow 55) on the oring with Loctite 574 on the gasket.
Although no sealant is necessary Curil T will not hurt.

I've never used a sealant on this, just a little oil. However I'd use Curil-T if I felt the need I suppose. I use it on the gasket but mainly because it helps hold it in place...
