Twin plug heads for 3.2 --> 3.5
Hello Pelicans,
Does anyone know how much it costs for twin plug heads? I am reading bruce anderson's book and investigating what it might cost for 100mm P&Cs and twin plug setup. If there is already a thread, can you point me to it? Thank you, |
I have you covered. Search for a thread on the engine I built for my dad. Currently it is a 3.3 with 100mm bore, twin plugged, bla bla bla.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=267048&highlight=rebuil d+has+begun+yay We are slowly accumulating the parts to now go from 3.3 to 3.5. Heads, crank, rods, cams and on and on. The actual machine work to twin plug the heads is a non issue. It all depends on how you fire those plugs that gets costly. 993 twin plug distributor, Burn Bros 12 plug dizzy, NOS porsche 935/936, RSR style dizzy, electronics. Coils with cdi boxes, coilpacks firing one or two plugs, coil on plug, cdi boxes controlled by electronics, sensors, brains, it goes on forever. I think the most tried and true method around here is a twin plug distributor with either MSD or Bosch CDI units. My end goal is coil on plug controlled by the Autronic aftermarket stand alone ecu that controls the fueling right now. Aside from that you have Motec, DTA, Haltech, KMS, AEM, MSD (i think), TAG/McLaren, BoschMS, the list is rather long. Set your goals, set your budget and go from there. There are plenty of ways to get twin plug done right. Have fun. |
