Oil Cooler rebuilt by Pacific Oil Cooler
Wow. Beautiful work by Pacific oil cooler. They ultrasonically cleaned, pressure tested and fixed three cracks on this cooler for $130.

Sending mine out on Friday...
I'm also having them take a look at my '72 oil tank, which has 4 small rust holes each about the size of a pea. Over the phone they said no problem, but they'd have to quote the repair price when they get it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. They seem great on the phone.

Oil cooler looks great. But more importantly, I've never seen one with a threaded end for the S-hose connection. Is this custom or a stock part from a particular year?

hehe sorry, no pics. Actually I was totally surprised! There were no noticeable leaks/dents/breaks on the cooler when I took the engine apart. Apparently, they cleaned it and tested it. It failed and the holes were not fixable. That was all I was told. They have cleaned tons of coolers so I trust them.
Unfortunately, I told them to scrap it which was a big mistake. Could have used it as a core for a 964 oiling set up or something cool like that. *shrug* I'm a packrat and the one time I choose not to hold on to that 'useless' POS it bites me in the ass... probably serves me right or some past transgression  It gets worse... I go out and the only cooler I can find for months cost me $200... then, after I pay and receive, I see 10 go by for less than $100... and they were already cleaned! Sometimes you just cant win! The Behr oil coolers were threaded up to 1972 and in 1973 the changed to the hose clamp style. I have a threaded version on my 1972, 2.4 motor, but have a nice cleaned one in the box from a 1973. I'd sell it or $250.
