What do you think about this, I was reading the Peter Zimmermann and he says that it is not needed at all the weak point of early cars is the valves...

With all due respect to Pete who is one helluva sharp guy, I would strongly recommend the pressurized tensioners for all 911 engines that are driven on the street. Its simply prudent insurance,...:)

If you ever get an opportunity to watch the timing chains (with the covers removed) from idle to 4K RPM, will make this recommendation VERY obvious,...:)

The REAL weak point of this system was the pre-'82 narrow chain idlers which allowed these to bind on their shafts. Wide idlers fixed that for good.

Valves, rockers, etc., is really a different subject altogether.

I think they are the best solution and worth the money. If you install them with the later idler arms you can pretty much forget about them for the next 200,000 miles. If you really don't want to do it or can't afford it you could get by with the updated idler arms and the collars on the old style tensioners. If you do this you will always have to worry about your tensioners but it will work for quite awhile.
