Oil leak under Vram intake?

I seem to have a small oil leak right under my Vram intake.

Looks to be coming out of the vacuum assisted intake flapper valve under the Vram intake, right behind the fan....

Anyone seen this before?

Why would there be oil here?

Thanks,
S

This is not uncommon,.....:)

Thats a resonance-flap actuator # 993.110.462.02.

Oil can drip from there when the seal fails on the shaft and thats from both engine blowby and an episode of oil-tank overfilling,...:)

Thanks Steve.
Go to know it's common, doesn't sound serious...

It it easy to change the seal.. or do I have to take the whole VRAM intake off?

Hmm oil-tank overfilling...

Perhaps I'll have to attach the blowby hose to an external tank..

That one is kinda tough to get off. I usually save time by loosening the clamps on the rubber sleeves and lifting the intake manifold up a few inches to gain access.

Just be VERY careful about reading the dipstick (ignore the guage) and maintain oil level no higher than the middle.
