What spark plugs for 3.2 ss?
I am in the process of rebuilding the engine in my 78 sc. I'm not sure what spark plugs to run. I have a new set of the ones recommended for a stock 78. Will I have to run different plugs with 9.5 to 1 compression, 98mm p/c and, a 964 cam or will the regular plugs work ok? I don't know if it will make a difference but I live in CA and am limited to crappy 91 octane gas.
Thanks |
I have a Kremer 3.2 (911 SC case, 98mm Mahle P/C's, 9.8 compression, CIS, SSI's, stock cams). I run exclusively on Shell premium 91 octane.
Kremer recommended Bosch W3CC's, I have been running those for years in the silver version - W3CS - and have been trying one grade hotter - W4CS's - no problems. I figured that Kremer would recommend dead cold plugs due to the autobahn driving they would normally experience with their engines in Germany.... Dennis |
Forgive me for my ignorance. What are the drawbacks running too cold of a plug (fouling?) Is too cold of a plug better than too hot of a plug?

That is a hell of a good question, I am hoping the experts will post their thoughts on this!
I guess a little bit more detail about your motor may be needed. CIS? EFI? CARBS? EXHAUST? CHeers |
Stock cis with stock exhaust and 964 cam

I ordered the w4cs's today.
Thanks for the advice Dennis |
