3.2 exhaust

I am needing advice to which way to go. I plan on doing a supercharged 3.2-3.4 big bore in a backdated carrera.

I was going to use backdated SSI exhaust but I seen on here a few people are using 993 exhaust.

My question is does the 993 exhaust have lager tubes than the SSI? I don't want to lose power but, I still want heat.

Chuck

They do have larger diameter. Do a search as there was a thread that covered how to do this and Steve Wong was putting it on his car. Have been waiting to see what the dyno is on the 993 he's with the SteveW chip combo.

Please note that bigger tubes do not result in more power per se.
Don't make them too big; loss of pressure in the exhaust path will change flow and reduce / change power characteristics of the engine.
Wayne's book has good references as to sizes.

exactly along with poor choices in mufflers.. ssis are perfectly fine for 3.2's in 90% of the applications

Chuck, Here is the thread on he flipped flange 993 he's Flipped Flange
Low end will be fine for 3.2-3.4 but high rpm range will suffer especially on the 3.4 with a super charger. You are forcing a lot more air into the engine. Keep us posted looks like a great project. If the engine is motronic give SteveW a call as he would be able to burn a chip for you and has experience with the 993 HE install
