engine oil screens
Nobody makes much mention of these:
![]() Are they to prevent catastrophic failures from polluting the oil system? I'm guessing since they don't exist in later designs and nobody has made a replacement part they are unnecessary and should be simply left out. andy |

Those were anti-aeration screens.

Many people leave them out when rebuilding their engines for several reasons but one of the main problems is that the (plastic ?) edging becomes brittle with age & bits fall off into the oil contaminating it.
