Minimum Meat at Spigots with 14x2 case savers

Dear All,
I really must wonder how can I seal my cylinders with case savers 14x2 outer diameter.

Also consider that plain steel and magnesium causing a chemical reaction.

Here my pictures I did and I am very concerend about grinding all meat away
to install the case savers. That`s why my case savers are coated.

How can I assure that this will not cause a leakage with the copper cylinder gasket. Here my pictures.

Regards Bob.

Looks about right to me, we did our mag case with nothing but the copper gaskets without any leaks, The key is to keep your cylinders tight, when they move they leak and with the savers in they will hold.

Dear all,

what temerature do I have in the cylinder case gasket area.

This picture shows that I have no material left over. I am looking for another saver. This is a hight risk if I install the M14x2.

I am reading in all the sealing threads to use curil in this section.

They recomend Cylinders to Case: Curil K-2 or ThreeBond 1211

I wonder if the temperature rage of these two liquid seals will do it.

I would think that that part of the case should be about the same temp as the oil. I would plan on 250f or so. I don't like the looks of how small that area is either. Maybe some small pieces of aluminum could be made to fill in the gaps and epoxied into place. Or maybe some taller inserts could be used and left out enough to be even with the spigots. Use non-hardening sealant on the copper gaskets.

I might go with an 1/2"empi case saver or with a German Kerbbonus selftaped thinwall special reinforced outer M12 case saver.
