sound pad residue cleaner
 

Sorry, but I couldn't find a good post on this. Wayne's book is silent on the subject.

Any advice on what cleans off the old sound pad residue?

Also, the new pad is different from the old style. Does the smoother surface face the engine or the body work?

I used Acetone... be sure your work area is well ventilated and wear nitrile gloves...
