Rebuild required?

I am new to this forum and am looking at becoming a new porsche owner.

I have located the dream car that I am looking for at a price that I can afford. It is an all orginal 1993 C2 Cabriolet, tiptronic transmission with 123,000 miles. It has obviously been well cared for over its entire life and has nearly all service records. It is in excellent condition inside and out. I have had it fully inspected, including a compression and leakdown test, by a reputable independant Porsche service garage and no major issues were discovered.

Here is my question. Should I plan on spending serious $$$ in the near future to automatically refurbish the engine and transmission? I know that this will eventually be required. But with 123k miles has this car reached the magic mileage where a rebuild should almost automatically be done regardless of the condition or indication of a problem? Or can I wait another 25k-30k miles or so for an sign that something is going wrong?

Your advice and opinions would be very welcome.

At 123K, the only thing that car would need is a valve job to replace the factory valve guides.

Assuming proper maintenance, everything else goes a long time,....

Steve,

Thanks for the prompt reply!! So should I budget for a valve job and guide replacement as the first thing I do on taking ownership of the car?
