Carerra Oil Pump Upgrade
Has anyone upgraded their oil pump when rebuilding their 911 engine? I am in the middle of a complete rebuild of my 1978 911 SC engine. It was suggested to me that I consider upgrading the oil pump to the Carerra oil pump since it produced more oil pressure. What is required to do this upgrade? Where there problems with the oil pump in the 911 SC?

Very good investment and a drop in. No case mods required. You shoudl be able to find a nice one in the BBS or on eBay for a couple hundred bucks.

Dont the SC and Carrera oil pumps produce the same flow? I thought it was just the pickup on the scavenger side that was different?

SC and Carrera pumps identical except for pickup tube.
