Oil Smoke from Heater Boxes
Hi All,
Its been a long time since my last post. My car will be 49 years old this year, 73,300 miles. Oil drips from left side of engine into the heater box and under acceleration, smoke comes into the cabin. I've tried leaving the heater off, and venting the smoke to the outside of the car, but even then, smokes comes into the vehicle. Does anyone make a device that can be installed between the engine and the heater box to prevent oil from entering the heater box? Otherwise its an engine re-build. Thanks Dom

BTDT...
Oil get in the HE (where the 3 pipes enter the chamber) and once a while it flash over. I took them off, clean them with soapy water (dawn) and put some high heat silicone at the joints. Of course fixing the oil leak (probably from the rockers, $3 per seals) is the permanent solution.
